A Squadron Commander Review Board (SCRB, pronounced "Scrub") is convened when a cadet is recommended to be placed on or removed from conduct probation or aptitude probation. The board consists of the cadet's squadron commander, flight commander, element leader, and additional personnel may be present such as the flight NCO or element NCO. The squadron first sergeant or superintendent records the minutes of the meeting, and the AOC or MTL may be present, but not necessarily.

All personnel wear service dress. The cadet under review must officially report in and out of the Board meeting.

During a SCRB, the board reviews evidence and recommends that a cadet be placed on or removed from probation. If the board is placing a cadet on probation, it will also recommend remedial and corrective measures, such as the assignment of a mentor, additional duties, restrictions, etc. SCRBs are usually very stressful for the cadet being reviewed, but a cadet under review by a SCRB is generally not in immediate danger of involuntary disenrollment.

If the SCRB is convened to review whether a cadet should be removed from probation, and the evidence shows that the cadet did not exhibit sufficient improvement or growth to merit removal from probation, a MRC will be convened. A MRC does have the potential to recommend a cadet for disenrollment.
