Brig. Gen. Ruben A. Cubero was the seventh Dean of Faculty at the Academy, holding that position from 1991 to 1998. He was a graduate of the Class of 1961.

[edit] Background

The general entered the Air Force in 1957 as a member of the third graduating class of the Air Force Academy, and is the second graduate to be named dean. General Cubero flew the OV-10 during the Vietnam War as a forward air controller in support of military operations in Southeast Asia. Other assignments include Panama and the Military Airlift Command where he flew the C-118, C-135 and C-141. He is a pilot in the T-41D and TG-7A motorized glider where he served as instructor pilot from 1984 until 1991.
