Richard Allen Lehmkuhl (aka Reichen), Class of 1996, along with his partner, Chip Arndt, won the fourth season of the CBS reality show "The Amazing Race." Lehmkuhl received no P.R. from the Air Force or the Academy, however, most likely because he "came out" and is openly homosexual. Reichen split up with Chip after the show ended, and has recently been in a relationship with 'N Sync member Lance Bass.

For a brief time, Lehmkuhl hosted The Reichen Show on Q Television Network until the network ceased operations on May 2006. His autobiography Here’s What We’ll Say, about his time in the Air Force under the military's commonly called "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy, was released on October 28, 2006. He currently works as a model and as a spokesperson for the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network, a gay-rights organization.

[edit] CBS Bio

"Twenty-eight-year-old Reichen is a pilot and teaches at a flight school in Los Angeles. A former US Air Force officer and a graduate of the US Air Force academy, he is married to his teammate Chip. He loves skiing and flying and is very into being physically fit. He describes himself as "detail-oriented, caring and thrill-seeking." He speaks French and has traveled internationally quite a bit. Reichen's views on relationship are much more liberal than Chip's -- He enjoys flirting with other guys, but that makes Chip upset. Reichen likens himself to Ben Affleck--"intense"--and says Chip is like Bruce Willis: "steady and true." Reichen says he never procrastinates; he gets things done NOW."
