Operation Air Force

Operation Air Force (also called "Ops Air Force" or just "Ops") is a summer military training program where cadets travel to an operational Air Force base to learn about Air Force operations. In the past, travel to the more desireable bases, especially those overseas, went to cadets with higher MPAs.

This program existed in earlier incarnations as "Operation Third Lieutenant". Early classes (at least through 1967) participated in Operation 3nd Lieutenant following their Third Class Year, a 3-week assignment to an operational unit. This activity immediately followed the Overseas Field Trip.
