M5

M5 is the fifth period of the day on M-days, and used for military training instead of academic classes. It was right after lunch, and therefore especially sleep-inducing especially if the training for the day was a long boring briefing. In 2003, M5 was expanded to both M-days and T-days and given its own dedicated period known as Commandant's Time. M5 then reverted to a normal academic class period.

M5/Commandants Time can be used for any kind of military training, including inspections, drill practice, briefings, etc. Occasionally, one or more classes might have no training scheduled for that day; a free M5 period is cherished by cadets.
