Improper question

An improper question is one that essentially uses the Honor Code as a trap to get the cadet to incriminate himself in some other matter. An example is when a superior asks a cadet "did you break such-and-such a rule" knowing that if the cadet did, he would have to answer as such in order to adhere to the Honor Code, and if the cadet lied to get out of the punishment, he will have committed an honor violation.

Thus, cadets will not be punished for refusing to answer improper questions (much like the right to remain silent). However, if they do answer, they must answer truthfully.
