Die Smile Die

If a fourth class cadet is unable to keep his bearing or maintain a straight face, he is typically addressed as "smiling man," told to rip the smile off his face, throw it to the floor, and stomp it to death while shouting "Die, smile, die!" As this is impossible to do while keeping a straight face, it is self-perpetuating and very infectious, as bystanding smacks also usually lose their composure. This is an embellishment of the earlier simple directive to "Wipe that smile off your face and stomp on it." Note that this is generally done only for the amusement of upperclassmen, and is not a serious training technique.
