Cadet number

In the 1970s, the cadet number was six digits long with the first two numbers corresponding to the last two numbers of the cadet's graduating year. They were assigned alphabetically and so were sequential on an alpha roster, but because there were large gaps, it seemed they were assigned to all applicants for a class.
