Air Power Rooms
From USAFA Folklore
Air Power Rooms were spare rooms in a squadron that were used to collect and display examples of Air Power. Members of the squadron would make aircraft or missile models. In the early days, aircraft models were hung from the ceiling in dog fights with colored thread for tracers and cotton for smoke and flames, or in flight formations. Magazines and books were available and were often the source of required reading for the fourth class cadets. In 1960, 5th Squadron had the first Air Power Room and the idea quickly spread throughout the Wing.
